Clinton Asay is a substance use treatment counselor who has spent the past several years working as a recovery coach and lead case manager at a sober living residence in Brooklyn, New York. He has extensive experience collaborating with diverse clients and approaches his work with curiosity, warmth, and an authentic interest in supporting folks as they navigate early recovery.
Prior to working in mental health, he worked primarily in hospitality and the performing arts. Clinton holds dual master’s degrees in forensic psychology and forensic mental health counseling from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Additionally, he holds a B.A. in forensic psychology with a concentration in addiction studies. Clinton is a MHC-LP, NYS Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Use Counselor (CASAC) and a Certified Addiction Recovery Coach (CARC). Outside of his professional life, he enjoys unusually long walks, songwriting, and connecting with his community.
